As the transition to the upgrade approaches, more FAQs will be added to help make your upgrade as easy as possible.
When will the upgrade happen? Do I need to do anything to get this upgrade?
The upgrade is scheduled for July 10, 2019. University staff and LinkedIn Learning will send out notifications prior to Northeastern’s upgrade date so you have ample time to prepare. However, please note, nothing is needed from you prior to the upgrade.
Will I be able to access Lynda content during the upgrade?
No, there will be up to 18 hours of downtime on Lynda.com while Northeastern migrates Lynda.com content to LinkedIn Learning.
Will I lose all of the information in my current Lynda.com account when Northeastern upgrades to LinkedIn Learning?
No, your entire history will be migrated to LinkedIn Learning account. Once you activate your LinkedIn Learning account, your history and activity will be available in the new platform.
How will I access LinkedIn Learning?
After the upgrade, you can access LinkedIn Learning on the web at linkedinlearning.northeastern.edu or through the LinkedIn Learning Mobile app for iOS and Android. The links to Lynda.com on the myNortheastern portal and Blackboard will be updated during the transition.
Am I required to connect my LinkedIn profile to my Northeastern LinkedIn Learning account?
No, connecting your profile is optional. If you change your mind, you retain the option to connect your profile at a later time.
Why should I connect my LinkedIn profile to my Northeastern LinkedIn Learning account?
Connecting your profile will result in a more personalized learning experience that includes special course recommendations based on your job title, skills, and industry. Read more about the reasons to connect with LinkedIn.
Will Northeastern have access to view my LinkedIn activity on my personal account?
No, Northeastern University will not see your private LinkedIn activity. See LinkedIn’s privacy information.
Who has access to LinkedIn Learning?
All active students, faculty, and students can access LinkedIn Learning at no additional cost with their Northeastern accounts.
